Got lots of scraps and a yen for something new and fun to wear? I can't guarantee that your scraps will go away, but you can have a fun time wearing the results of this class. Use small scraps of fabric in this process which is applique and quilting all in one. Bonus -- if you're working on your machine quilting, this machine time will count toward your total "practice time."

This class can be taught as a half day class, with no garment involvedYou'll learn just the technique and what to do with it using a small sample piece. Very freeing if you're used to spending a lot of time planning and piecing.

I think of this technique as "seeing in fabric" Bring a photo or two to choose from (one you took, favorite calendar landscape or from a magazine). Go home with a small work-in-progress based on that photo. We'll talk about fabric collage which makes great framed gifts. Mainly we'll use fabric as paint, and look at the pictures you bring and how they can be translated to fabric and stitches. You'll learn some really useful techniques.

Yes you CAN do this.

Machine Quilting Designs
Some experience helpful

 Full Day or Multi-Day

This class will focus more on free-hand machine quilting designs. Are you looking for something to fill up those vast spaces in your next quilt? Wanting to move beyond straight lines and purchased patterns? Tired of squiggley stippling? This class is for you. You'll take home a group of small sample pieces as reminders of things to try on your next quilt. We will talk about things that help insure good machine quilting results and how to handle bigger quilts. You might even decide machine quilting is FUN.

Some experience with machine quilting is helpful, but you do NOT have to be an expert.
